HR Assistant

Westerleigh, Bristol

Westerleigh Group is one of the leading providers of Cemeteries and Crematoria in the UK and has a unique and interesting opportunity at it's Head Office based in the grounds of Westerleigh Crematorium.

We are an expanding company having built two new crematoria in the last two years, with further plans for development in 2015 and beyond, and have been providing facilities throughout the UK for over 20 years.

You will be required to play a critical role in assisting all aspects of Human Resources requirements that can drive innovation and execution in this rapidly growing company.

As an HR Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Operations function with all front line HR support. Some travelling is required for this role.

Full Time (40 hours per week)

Essential Skills Required

  • Experience in a similar role or equivalent qualifications
  • Proven HR delivery skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong HR Systems knowledge
  • Strong Interpersonal skills - develops and maintains good working relationships with internal customers, treating others with respect, building trust and rapport
  • Good verbal and written communications.
  • Strong team player ethic

Preferred Qualifications

  • CHRP (Certificate in HR Practice)

Responsibilities

  • Undertaking transactional HR changes using systems such as Excel.
  • Managing a large flow of paperwork in and out of the department and completing routine administrative duties such as recruitment administration, data entry, short listing application forms and first interviews
  • Producing reports on HR metrics that will help to drive change and improvements.
  • Coaching and developing Managers in the correct use of HR tools, processes and completion of paperwork.
  • Supporting the maintenance of employment policies and procedures that are specific to our company.
  • Developing and maintaining suitable communication processes to ensure smooth and efficient flow of accurate information across the Operations function.
  • Enabling cooperation between payroll and HR
  • Assisting with the induction of new employees.
  • Assisting in the scheduling of and taking notes during Investigation, Disciplinary and Grievance meetings.
  • Provide sound advice to all internal customers
  • Assist with updating company documents as and when necessary to ensure that documents comply with current legislation.
  • Participate in local site/UK wide HR projects

Part Time Cemetery and Crematorium Assistant

Location: Forest Park Cemetery & Crematorium, Hainault

Westerleigh Group is one of the leading providers of Cemeteries and Crematoria in the UK and we have a unique and interesting opportunity at our Forest Park facility in Hainault.

Our Company vision is to ensure every funeral service is regarded as a major event and receives the same priority as if it was for a member of one’s own family or a civic or national dignitary.

We specialise in providing well maintained, clean and comforting environments for mourners, clergy, funeral directors and staff, both within and outside the building. This includes landscaping the grounds to ensure that a natural and beautiful setting is provided throughout the year.

The Position

We are looking for a hands on, highly motivated individual with excellent customer service skills, to join our dedicated team.

Duties to include: Overseeing services in the chapel, attending burials, operation of the cremators, and maintaining the memorial gardens.

The successful applicant will be a flexible, well motivated self-starter who possesses excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest level of service to the bereaved.

The Person

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be motivated by a passion for quality and great customer service.
  • Be self-motivated, flexible and committed to providing the highest level of service to the bereaved, whilst maintaining the highest levels of attention to detail.
  • Have experience of operating machinery.

Own transport is essential as the role will include travelling to some of our other cemeteries.
