Cemetery and Crematorium Administrator

Torbay Crematorium

The Position

Duties to include: data entry, record keeping, helping families to choose a memorial and overseeing services in the chapel.

The successful applicant will be a flexible, well motivated self-starter who possesses excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest level of service to the bereaved.

Hours

Full Time (40 hours per week).

Essential Skills Required

  • A good standard of education including a sound knowledge of Mathematics and English.
  • A caring and sympathetic nature to deal with the bereaved at a sensitive time.
  • A polite and pleasant telephone manner.
  • Experience of retail sales accompanied by excellent customer service skills.
  • A good knowledge of Windows based computer systems to ensure that all information is entered correctly on Epilog (in-house system) for the proper recording of funeral and memorial details.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a sensitive, compassionate and confidential manner with the public, funeral directors and clergy, in person or on the telephone.
  • A flexible and approachable attitude to the needs of the public.
  • Flexible approach to team working hours.
  • Ability to work within a team to ensure that high standards of care are achieved.

Full Time Crematorium Assistant

Barham Crematorium

The Position

We are looking for a hands on, highly motivated individual with excellent customer service skills, and good IT skills (including use of MS Office) to join our dedicated team.

Duties to include: Operation of the cremators, maintaining the memorial gardens, overseeing services in the chapel, and some office administration. The successful applicant will be a flexible, well motivated self-starter who possesses excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest level of service to the bereaved.

Hours

40 hours per week, to be worked flexibly

For the right person there may be further opportunities to quickly expand this role, taking on extra responsibilities and duties to progress and build a fulfilling career in this growing company.

The ideal candidate will: 

  • Be motivated by a passion for quality and great customer service.
  • Be self-motivated, flexible and committed to providing the highest level of service to the bereaved, whilst maintaining the highest levels of attention to detail.
  • Have experience of operating machinery.

Own transport is essential as the role may include working at our crematorium in Charing.
