Christmas invitation from Westerleigh Group’s crematoria

Anyone missing a loved one during the festive season is invited to their nearest Westerleigh Group crematorium’s annual Christmas carol and memorial service for some comfort and company.

The seasonal services, which feature a mixture of readings and Christmas Carols, are always popular among the communities served by the crematoria.

Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All its crematoria are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance and cemeteries which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefitting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

For those unable to attend in person, many of the crematoria are offering guests the chance to view the services online, either live or as a ‘watch again’ option for up to 28 days after the day of each event, through Obitus, Westerleigh Group’s media partner.

Debbie Smith, Chief Executive Officer of Westerleigh Group, said: “Whether people are living in, working in or just visiting, the communities surrounding our crematoria and cemeteries, the doors are open for anyone and everyone to join us for our popular seasonal memorial services.

“The run-up to Christmas is a time when families and friends are foremost in our minds, possibly more than any other time of the year, and that means the loss of a loved one can be felt even more.

“Our services bring people together in our warm and welcoming chapels, in the company of others who are also remembering and honouring those they have lost.”

The specific event dates and details vary from site to site, and anyone interested in finding out more is advised to visit the website of their nearest Westerleigh Group crematorium.

Some sites will host live performances from choirs and soloists, some will offer visitors the chance to write personalised messages on memory tags, and some will offer guests the chance to light commemorative candles.

All sites will be offering the opportunity to for people to use their white memorial post boxes for ‘sending’ a Christmas card to their loved one.

All the events are free but some require people to secure their seats in advance to avoid disappointment, due to the demand for places.
