Bristol homeless charity is real winner of our company Christmas raffle
A Bristol charity for people experiencing hunger and homelessness was once again the real winner of a fund-raising festive raffle for Westerleigh Group staff.
InHope, the charity which runs The Wild Goose drop-in centre in Stapleton Road, Easton, has received a £1,515 donation as a result of the raffle.
The Wild Goose drop-in centre offers a range of services and support for people in need, including hot meals, showers, clothing and a laundry service.
It offers shower facilities, clothing, a laundry service, toiletries, and hosts advisory sessions about housing, finance, employment, health, citizen’s rights, alcohol and drug issues and a weekly medical clinic.
The centre can also signpost visitors to other agencies and organisations which can help them.
Deborah Paterson, office manager of Westerleigh Group’s headquarters, said: “Westerleigh Group makes many donations every year to charities, schools and other organisations which make a positive difference to the communities surrounding our crematoria all over the country.
“With our headquarters based in Bristol, we have had a long-standing tradition of donating to the Wild Goose drop-in centre every year, and supporting the charity that runs it, InHope, who provides such vital support to those in need, and we’re pleased to be able to continue that tradition.”
David Pritchard, Income Team Leader at InHope, said: “The Wild Goose is a place of refuge for people experiencing homelessness.
“Support from InHope’s partners such as Westerleigh Group is crucial in enabling this work to continue. We’d like to thank everyone at Westerleigh for their enthusiastic support and generous contributions, which help people in Bristol when they need it most.”
Deborah added: “We could not have done this without the generosity of businesses and partners who kindly donated prizes for the raffle, so we would like to say a huge thank you to them, too.”
