Westerleigh Group crematorium shortlisted for top title

Westerleigh Group could once again soon claim to have the best crematorium in the country after The Vale Crematorium at Evesham was shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious Good Funeral Awards.

It will find out in October if they have won the coveted Crematorium of the Year category.

The awards are run by the Association of Green Funeral Directors to recognise and celebrate excellence, dedication and innovation.

Westerleigh Group is one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, and which is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All Westerleigh's locations are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefiting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

In all, the winners of 24 awards celebrating the highest standards in the sector, will be announced at an event in Berkshire in October.

Debbie Smith, CEO of Westerleigh Group, said: “We’re delighted to once again have several of our crematoria nominated for this top title and even more pleased that The Vale has been shortlisted as a finalist.

“At Westerleigh Group we always put families at the heart of everything we do – offering a choice of compassionate, affordable cremation services and flexible funeral plans in beautifully maintained, sustainable chapels and grounds.

“In close partnership with trusted local funeral directors, we’re here to deliver exceptional care when it matters most.

“To be shortlisted for such a prestigious award is an endorsement of that, and a formal recognition that we operate to extremely high standards.

“It’s a huge credit to the professional and dedicated team at The Vale Crematorium, who are all truly passionate about what they do.

“Whether they win the Crematorium of the Year title or not, they should all feel extremely proud to have been shortlisted, as we are proud of them.

“I would like to congratulate everyone at The Vale Crematorium for this achievement and wish to thank our industry partners for making the nominations.”
