Salary: £20,001 – £23,000 + Commission (OTE £200 - £300 per month) + Benefits

8.30am – 5pm Tuesday- Saturday 40 Hours per week

Have you always wanted to use your transferable Customer Service / Sales skills in a role where you can truly make a difference every day?

Would you enjoy working as a part of a close-knit team with a sense of camaraderie not found in a generic job?

If so, we would love to hear from you!

We have a vacancy for a Memorial Advisor to join our friendly team based at our beautiful Great Glen Crematorium (South Leicestershire).

We are the largest independent operator of crematoria in the UK, employing more than 400 empathetic and dedicated individuals and we are growing.

You might not have considered this line of work before like many of our employees, however with full training provided and on-going career development, you will find it one of the most varied and rewarding opportunities you could ever imagine.

The role

As a Memorial Advisor you will be part of our busy site team and ensure that families are given the best experience possible.

Each funeral is an incredibly important one-off event for the bereaved so having a Memorial Advisor on-site allows for dedicated one to one support and guidance when discussing all the different memorial options that are available.

This is not a “hard sales” role, neither is it a role where you will be bound to a desk!

You will be involved in a variety of tasks each day including:

  • Answering the phone, email enquiries and helping people that visit the site unannounced.
  • Booking appointments with families using our IT system called Epitaph (training provided) to discuss memorial options, this can include jewellery options, the material a headstone is made from, the colour and font of any engraving, whether they would like a tree / living memorial, the plot area etc. From simple ideas to grand plans it’s down to you to make their wishes come true.
  • You could be walking the grounds with the family to show them the different plots available and give them an idea of what the memorials look like once created, sometimes it helps the family to see their options visually and not just looking at a picture in a brochure.
  • Once all decisions have been made by the family you will be liaising with different suppliers to place orders and bring everything together, so it is co-ordinated beautifully.
  • You will also provide the family with a breakdown of costs and process the final transactions so the ability to use basic Excel will be required.
  • Additional responsibilities include communicating with families about memorial leases and extensions, oversee renovations and repairs to memorials, accurate record keeping
  • Ad hoc work – Like any role there will be other things that come up that you will get involved for example supporting the welcoming of families to the Chapel for a service, making sure the site is tidy and presentable. You can also be fully cremator trained if you want to understand the whole process.

This role requires flexibility and pulling together as one team to support each other and provide the exceptional care and service that we are known for.

About you

You might not know everything there is to know about the bereavement sector however there is no better place to learn.

  • Natural communicator with a flair for customer service and the ability to speak to people in a caring and understanding manner.
  • A good listener, sometimes our customers will want to take things slow and chat their options over a cup of tea and that’s fine by us.
  • A real team player, with compassion and the desire to make a difference every day.
  • Organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills and comfortable with Word / Excel and emails.
