The Position

 

The role of a Cemetery Operations Assistant Manager is varied, busy and challenging where under the guidance of the Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the site delivers the highest levels of cremating, in conjunction with the grounds team ensuring consistently high quality grounds and being heavily involved in the development of approved existing areas of the cemetery through re-use as well as managing an ongoing project of identifying new areas for re-use. 

You will play a major role in the hands on day to day operation of the cemetery, reflecting our values and creating a culture and environment focused on standards and putting families first.    As such we are seeking a highly flexible, well-motivated self-starter who possesses excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing the highest level of service to the bereaved.

 

The Person

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • Experience of managing cemeteries.
  • Experience of groundsworks.
  • A flexible approach to team working hours.
  • A good standard of education including a sound knowledge of Mathematics and English.
  • A flexible and approachable attitude to the needs of the public.
  • An ability to work within a team to ensure that high standards of care are achieved.
  • A desire to learn and develop.
