Aylesbury Vale Crematorium become Gold Sponsors of the Nightingale’s Rainbow Project
Aylesbury Vale Crematorium and the Westerleigh Group have become Gold Level sponsors of the Nightingale’s Rainbow project by Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
Nightingale’s Rainbow is a new sculptural installation at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, built to celebrate the resilience and community spirit shown by the NHS, especially hospice staff, in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Aylesbury Vale Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 36 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Vivienne Centala, site manager at Aylesbury Vale Crematorium, said: “I could write a huge paragraph about why I was so intent on Team Aylesbury Vale and Westerleigh Group becoming Gold Sponsors, but simply it is because I have personally experienced the amazing work carried out in hospices.
“My father resided in one before he passed, and my closest friend has a daughter who manages one’.
“I have seen first-hand what a difference the incredible staff and their loving care make to not just the person they are supporting but to the families too.
“My team and I have all had to deal with family losses and for us, this is a way of acknowledging those who give their all at a time when it’s needed the very most. This is our Thank You.”
Emma Carroll from Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, said: “The community response to Nightingale’s Rainbow has been wonderful. Our Gold Sponsors represent the backbone of the Buckinghamshire business community and having Aylesbury Vale Crematorium and Westerleigh Group as one of them is very fitting. Thank you for your support.”
