15,001 reasons to talk about uniquely personal funerals

by Crematorium Editor Westerleigh News

There are 15,001 good reasons for delegates to visit Westerleigh Group’s stand at this year’s National Funeral Exhibition (NFE) between 13 and 15 June.

One reason is that Westerleigh is inviting delegates to enjoy a complimentary coffee or tea at the stand, while the group has pledged to donate a total of £15,000 over the three-day event - £5,000 each day – to charities nominated by NFE visitors who participate in the group’s ‘Uniquely Personal campaign’.

Westerleigh Group takes great pride in helping families create uniquely personal final farewells for their loved ones.

That can involve everything from audio-visual tributes specifically tailored to the individual being remembered to specific decorative themes set up in the chapels – and in various forms of memorialisation.

The group is continually looking for exciting new ways to add even more personalisation.

Debbie Smith, CEO of Westerleigh Group, said: “At Westerleigh Group, we want every farewell to tell a story, and we are committed to making that farewell as unique to the individual as possible.

“At NFE, we are inviting industry colleagues to have a drink on us and share inspirational stories from their professions with us.

“At the same time, we are pledging to donate £15,000 to charities nominated by NFE visitors over the course of the three days of NFE – that’s other 15,000 reasons to come and visit us.

“Me and my colleagues are very much looking forward to speaking to our industry colleagues and forging partnerships for the benefit of the bereaved in the communities that we serve.”

For details of how to take part, nominate a charity for a chance of a donation from Westerleigh Group, and to enjoy a complimentary drink, visit stand 122 in Hall 1.

The charity donation funds are coming from the group’s metal recycling scheme. With the consent of families, metals recovered during cremation are recycled and any money raised is used to support selected charities, local activities and environmental initiatives.

Westerleigh Group is one of the UK’s largest owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.

Westerleigh Group prides itself on providing exceptional care to the bereaved, the standards of which are inspected by the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities (FBCA) in England and Wales, and the Scottish Government.
