We are currently looking for a passionate, empathetic, engaging, dedicated Gardener to join our team. The role is situated at our Torbay Cemetery and Crematorium site and covering the churchyards and cemeteries in the local area and is the perfect opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a difference to people and wants the opportunity to learn and develop in their career.

The Role
This is a role for a hands-on horticulturalist with a passion for delivering excellence, you will be responsible for all grounds maintenance activity, from lawn maintenance, planting and pruning and the general upkeep of our historical cemetery grounds.
This is a role for an individual who can develop an understanding of the importance of high quality memorial grounds to make sure we always deliver for our service users.
In this role you will be responsible for the following:
· Lawn maintenance, weeding and removing unwanted vegetation
· Planting schemes
· Pruning shrubbery
· Spraying
· Health and Safety compliance
· Assisting with cemetery operations where necessary

The Person
You’re the type of person who will turn their hand to anything and love learn new things. Someone flexible, who likes to take the initiative. You might not know everything there is to know about grounds within a bereavement setting – but fast-forward a bit and you’ll be a model of best practice.
As long as you have horticultural experience, basic computer skills, Maths and English GCSEs, a driving licence and you understand the importance of prioritisation, compliance, and experience using machinery and physical tasks, we can show you the rest.
