Rotary Club of Hoddesdon present Bulbs to Woollensbrook Crematorium

by Crematorium Editor Westerleigh News

On Thursday morning 24th October, Woollensbrook Crematorium was pleased to welcome members of the Rotary Club of Hoddesdon and to host a planting ceremony to mark the occasion of World Polio Day.

The Rotary Club of Hoddesdon donated 4000 purple crocus bulbs and these have been planted in the Memorial Garden where they will enhance the beautiful surroundings and at the same time remind those that see them of the Rotary Club objective of ridding the world of Polio, a campaign that has been very successful over many years leaving only Pakistan and Afghanistan where the virus persists. The bulbs are going to create a nice carpet of spring flowers around the oak tree where ashes are scattered. In addition Woollensbrook Crematorium provided hundreds of daffodils, bluebells and snow drop bulbs to really enhance the gardens together with wild flowers and make it a memorable place for families to remember their loved ones.
